Following a period of transition and the departure of head coach Eric Ramsay to England, the club quickly regrouped under Cameron Knowles. This resilience has translated to the pitch, where a reloaded roster has the Loons fighting hard in the Western Conference playoff race. Fans looking for Minnesota United FC tickets will find a squad that pairs structural defensive grit with a newfound flair in the attacking third, making every home match highly anticipated.
At the heart of the Loons' recent surge is the blockbuster addition of Colombian superstar James Rodríguez, a signing that sent shockwaves across the league ahead of the World Cup. His world-class distribution pairs perfectly with the finishing ability of dynamic striker Kelvin Yeboah and the overlapping runs of All-Star defender Anthony Markanich. This blend of international pedigree and proven domestic talent makes the current squad uniquely entertaining. Whether they are grinding out physical results or engaging in high-scoring shootouts, Minnesota United FC consistently delivers drama and excitement.
Of course, the experience of attending a Minnesota United FC game is about much more than just the players on the field. Allianz Field remains one of the premier soccer-specific venues in North America. From the steep, safe-standing terraces of the famous Wonderwall to the lively atmosphere of the Brew Hall, the stadium provides an unmatched backdrop for MLS action. If you want to experience the roar of the crowd and the thrill of top-flight soccer, checking the Minnesota United FC schedule and securing MLS tickets to a matchup in Saint Paul is the perfect way to spend an evening.
The 2026 season has brought a whirlwind of headlines for Minnesota United FC. After head coach Eric Ramsay departed early in the year to take over at West Bromwich Albion, Cameron Knowles stepped in to stabilize the squad and keep their playoff ambitions firmly on track. The front office then made massive waves by signing Colombian legend James Rodríguez, fundamentally changing the team's attacking dynamic. Adding to their offensive firepower for the stretch run, the club also recently finalized a trade for German forward Maurice Malone to further bolster their attacking depth.
On the pitch, the Loons have shown immense resilience, relying heavily on the scoring touch of Kelvin Yeboah and the two-way dominance of All-Star defender Anthony Markanich. A perfect example of their current form came during a thrilling late-summer fixture against Orlando City SC at Allianz Field. After falling behind by two goals, Minnesota roared back to take a 3-2 lead on the shoulders of goals from Yeboah and Markanich, before ultimately settling for a hard-fought 3-3 draw. As they navigate the final weeks of the regular season, the club is entrenched in the Western Conference playoff battle, proving they can go toe-to-toe with anyone in the league.
For an unmatched, high-energy atmosphere, the Wonderwall (Sections 20-24) is the best spot, featuring a steep, safe-standing area right behind the south goal where the passionate supporters' groups chant all game. For those who prefer a more relaxed view with great sightlines, the Stadium Club seats (Sections 130-134) offer premium amenities and an elevated vantage point. Alternatively, seats near the north end by the Brew Hall provide a fun social environment close to concessions.
It is highly recommended to arrive at least 60 to 90 minutes before kickoff. This gives you plenty of time to navigate security, grab a drink at the Brew Hall, and find your seats before the pre-match festivities begin. Arriving early also allows you to soak in the incredible atmosphere as the Wonderwall starts their opening chants and the players take the field for warmups.
Yes. The Wonderwall is a standing-room-only, general admission section that requires fans to actively participate in chants and cheering. More importantly, opposing team colors or merchandise are strictly prohibited in this area. If you show up wearing gear from the visiting team, stadium staff will ask you to relocate or change your attire to maintain the unified, home-supporter environment.
Taking public transit is one of the easiest ways to get to a Minnesota United FC match. Allianz Field is conveniently located along the Metro Transit Green Line, with the Snelling Avenue Station sitting just a short walk from the stadium gates. Additionally, the A Line bus rapid transit service drops fans off right at the stadium, helping you avoid gameday traffic and parking fees entirely.
The standard MLS schedule is typically announced in late December or early January ahead of the spring kickoff. However, Minnesota United FC also competes in mid-season tournaments like the Leagues Cup and the U.S. Open Cup, so additional cup matches are often added to the calendar as the year progresses. Be sure to check back frequently for updated matchups.
Minnesota United FC has developed an intense regional rivalry with Sporting Kansas City, often referred to as the Nicest Rivalry in Sports due to the Midwestern roots of both clubs. They also share a growing geographic rivalry with Chicago Fire FC. Matches against these Central and Midwest foes tend to draw passionate crowds and feature heightened intensity on the pitch, making them highly anticipated events.
